Preparing for a Successful Education Program

  1. Check your confirmation email to make sure the information and dates are correct. To make any corrections or to cancel a booking, email no less than two weeks prior to your visit.
  2. Review our behavior expectations with your students. We need your help in protecting Robert Bateman’s original paintings and the work of other artists.
    • We require 1 adult per 10 students.
    • Sharing the gallery with the public requires calm movement and respectful voices.
    • Keep food, drinks and gum outside the gallery.
    • Use clipboards to write against, instead of walls.
    • Appreciate the art with your eyes and not your hands.
    • Please use photography without flash.
  3. Make an arrival plan. Free parking is available on Belleville Street in front of the Clipper Terminal. This is available for two hours. There are several nearby pay parking lots available. The closest is the Hotel Grand Pacific lot on Quebec Street.
  4. Use the glass stairwell entrance at the west entrance of the Steamship Building. Find washrooms and a coat rack before entering the Gallery. Backpacks may be left on the bench by the elevator.
  5. Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your program start time. If you arrive earlier, please wait outside, if possible.
  6. Meet the educator in the Gallery of Nature sketch room to begin your education program.
  7. Watch this video prior to your visit and visit to explore 2000 of Robert Bateman’s paintings.
