NATURE NEAR YOU: using art & media to share stories

ART COMPETITION GUIDLELINES

The Robert Bateman Centre would like to invite you to take part in our Nature Near You Art Contest. What does Nature mean to you? How do you do your part in keeping a clean and healthy local ecosystem? What can you learn from nature in your own neighborhood? We want to see art work of all forms answering one of these questions or addressing any other idea you have about nature near you. Follow the guidelines below for the opportunity to take part!
Deadlines

All entries must be submitted by October 2nd, 2017. Please send all entries to contest@batemancentre.org. Please indicate name, school, and grade when submitting your work.

Successful applicants will be notified by October 9th, 2017.

Successful applicants who have non-digital work may drop off their pieces to the Robert Bateman Centre no later than October 20th, 2017. The centre is located at 470 Belleville St, Victoria, BC V8V 1W9. Open daily from 10am-5pm.

Accepted Media and Eligibility

From Grades 6 to 8 as of September 2017.
We want everything and anything! This includes:
• Spoken word
• Video (max 3 minutes)
• Photography
• 2D and 3D art in any medium
• A combination!

Winners

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to have their work displayed in the Robert Bateman Centre’s Traveling Exhibit Bird’s Eye View. This exhibit will be traveling through British Columbia at the end of 2017 and beginning of 2018. This will give a chance for your work to be seen my many communities throughout our province!
