Junior NatureSketch

The Junior NatureSketch Club (ages 5 – 12 yrs) is an outdoor nature program for kids that focuses on sketching and observing wildlife habitats in unique ecosystems. Guided by a sketch artist and a naturalist, this program encourages children to connect to natural environments in their local community using a pencil and a sketchbook.

The cost of the program includes 9 weeks of ecosystem outings guided by a naturalist, sketching instruction, a special NatureSketch Club book, and all sketching materials. The program also includes a final exhibition on week 10 where the children’s sketches will be framed and hung on display at a local venue.

Cost:

1 CHILD

$200.00 (This includes a yearly $50.00 single NatureSketch membership with the Bateman Foundation)

2 OR MORE CHILDREN
$225.00 for first child (includes a $75.00 yearly family membership) and additional children are $150.00. Registration for subsequent classes in the same year would cost $150.00 for each child with a NatureSketch membership.

Advanced NatureSketch

Advanced NatureSketch program is geared towards children ages 8+ who have been through the program previously or for ages 13-18 who have not participated in the past.  This program will build on the skills learned in the Junior program but also introduce the students to more formal art training, expanding  their skills in sighting, shading, texture, etc. In this program we will be working both from nature as well as from reference photos to push students learning to a higher level.

The cost of the program includes 5 weeks of instructional outings guided by a naturalist, sketching instruction, a special NatureSketch Club book, and all sketching materials. The program also includes a final exhibition on week 6 where the students’ sketches will be framed and hung on display at a local venue.

**Class prices will have GST added to the total.  A non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration in order to hold a spot. The balance can be paid on or before the first day of class by contacting the Centre. Class fees, minus the registration deposit, will be refunded if notice of withdrawal is given prior to the first day of class. Non-attendance does not constitute notice of withdrawal. Refunds will not be processed once classes have begun.
