Nature Sketch on The Great Trail: Saskatoon
September 14 2019
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join us for our first ever cross-Canada Nature Sketch! This year, the Bateman Foundation and Trans Canada Trail (TCT) are teaming up to host Nature Sketch on The Great Trail, a series of events along The Great Trail of Canada – the world’s longest network of recreational multi-use trails.
Nature Sketch on The Great Trail in Saskatoon will take place on the Meewasin Trail in Wanuskewin Heritage Park, and will be guided by a naturalist and a Bateman Foundation sketch artist. “Meewasin” is the Cree word for “beautiful”, which aptly describes this oasis of incredible natural landscapes in the midst of Saskatchewan’s prairies. Following the winding curve of the South Saskatchewan River, it also serves as a natural habitat for many types of wildlife.
This event is FREE and open to budding artists of all ages. Places are limited, so register NOW to ensure you have a spot, and receive your free gift of a sketchbook and pencil. We advise all attendees to arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of the event start time.
Nature Sketch on The Great Trail is an initiative of the Bateman Foundation and Trans Canada Trail, and was made possible by a generous gift from Mr. Rodney Briggs.
Important information! The designated meeting spot is the entrance of Wanuskewin Heritage park building. Parking is right out front of building.
